About Us

Well we finally did it!  After trying to sell our house on and off for 5 long years we are following our dream to travel long term.  We are off to Southeast Asia for a year.  We have budget-travelled long term before (8 months in Europe in 2004) but we were 10 years younger then!  We will see if we can do it again …or for longer!

We hear that it is inexpensive in Southeast Asia so we will check that out too.  We plan to track our expenses to see if it is for us.  We plan to share those results.

Who are Mark and Christine ‘The Roaming Two’?  

We grew up in St. Albert, AB, Canada and we went to the same schools.  We dated for four years during University… in fact Christine was put on probation when she started dating Mark in her first year of Computer Engineering.  He was quite the distraction!   (Christine’s mom had always guessed that Mark was ‘a keeper’ after reading his Valentine’s cards when they were ‘just friends’.)  We were engaged while on vacation in Oregon and have been married 23 years.

Christine is 47 years young, enjoys mountain biking, hiking, travel, golfing with her mom, reading, movies and analyzing everything like crazy.  Nothing comes without a question!
Mark is 48 years ‘old’, a ‘simple’ dude, loves mountain biking, travel, the water (preferably the ocean), Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food ice cream, and yoga …and he still doesn’t carry a cell phone.   He has spent the majority of his career as a Registered Nurse working in a variety of areas.

We are both so grateful for our parents who taught us the importance of hard work and a respectful attitude.  We know we are very fortunate for our experiences.
